Karna Mustaqim completed his PhD in Comics Studies at the Faculty of Art and Design, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and his Master of Arts in Visual Communication and New Media at UiTM. Formerly, he taught foundation of graphic design basics, creative arts methodology, aesthetics and theories of art, including supervising students’ final projects at several private universities. He is interested in artistic practice-based research in art and design studies, with areas of research practices that include visual communication and graphic design, typography, traditional freeform drawings, and digital illustration. His predominant research interests have become comics and the phenomenology of aesthetic experience. He lives in Tangerang, Indonesia, with his beloved wife and two kids.
